Among the many aspects of ICP that I enjoy, their tendency to ramble off into a list of related items, one after another, seems worthy of mention. It's particularly pervasive in Bang! Pow! Boom! There are a few reasons I find these lists intriguing. It establishes an interesting sort of environment for the song to place in, populated by a familiar cast of genre-appropriate flora and fauna. A vocabulary is being established, a laundry list of familiars and haunts that dark carnival minions can add to their deck of tricks. It highlights the simple (nearing children's rhyme territory) structure and flow of the lyrics. As usual, I'm not sure if ICP knows what they're doing, but I hope it's all intentional.

I haven’t really listened to a lot of Common’s music. Only really this album, and one from the mid 90′s called Resurrection. But I have to say that I really like this song, and album, a lot. Really cool and solid beats, and good rhymes, hold it all together really well. Also, this album is [...]

MIA is quite an artist – her music is strikingly simply, yet unavoidably catchy. There are hooks that are just impossible to ignore.
Take for instance Bucky Done Gun, a song about child soldiers. Right off the bat, you get slapped hard with snappy snares, rumbling bass, and spunky female vocals – and then that iconic [...]
